I have an older article about this in Romanian here.
I also have this article on this blog subject:
I consider this blog my long-running project. Over the years, I’ve contributed to a lot of projects, either on a personal side or when doing work-related projects, but not all of those projects are still alive today.
I’ve built startups from 0 to MVP in months, and I’ve worked with big companies on their projects, but still today I am most proud of my 14-year-old blog. I started writing even before 16 years old, but I no longer have those blogs because those were on free hostings that nowadays no longer exist, but 14 years ago (due in March) I bought a professional hosting for my blog and paid for the domain.
Blogging and writing for me is therapeutic. It is like writing my own journal but in public.
I am not seeking celebrity status or a lot of readers. It is enough for me if I read my old stories and I remember exactly what I was living when I wrote those.
So why do I write? I write for myself. I write as a way of archiving memories. I write to feel better. I write to keep a long project running.
There are times when I do not feel like writing stuff or simply do not have time to do it, but every once in a while I get the need to write something down and maybe share it with the world on social media too.
I highly recommend you write, even if you do it in private (you can use something like DayOne) or in public (you can use WordPress to get a free blog). You will feel better doing this exercise.
