I never considered myself a brave person, but now that I think about it… there might be some part of bravery inside me.
Why? Because I have a higher risk tolerance than others, and you need to be brave for that.
For example, when I and my wife decided to buy a house, we only had a few thousand euros to pay for the contract. The other part needed as a down payment had to be paid until the house was done constructing.
Those months were tough, but I managed to do an alternative income stream to be able to have the required money for the down payment.
Also, I had a very bad monthly payment as a programmer before we bought the house so this required courage, because the monthly mortgage payment for the house required 70% of my monthly salary at that time.
I think I was brave enough to step into the unknown and that opened up amazing gates for me, both personally and professionally.
Also, because I have a higher risk tolerance than others, I did other great investments, and this also requires a dose of bravery.
So… am I really brave? Well, when I read the following Bible verses… I cannot be anything other than brave!
Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the Lord.
Psalm 31:24
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:9
Agreed. If God is with us we can rely on his strength to give us that bravery.Happy New Year. 🎉
Thank you, and happy new year to you too!
I believe that Jesus Himself experienced dread and fear in facing His immediate future. But He never faltered.
Yeah, HE is the real example and motivation for me in everything, including this.
Thanks for the biblical reminder.
I love the Bible, it has something for everyone.
When god is with us, it’s possible to face most mountains with courage. 🙂
So true!
Wow! I admire your courage. Great post and inspiring too.
Thank you 🙂
Thanks for your post on bravery. That’s a good way to think about it and it all goes back to trusting God.
Very nice
That does sound brave, Filip. Finances can leave one feeling powerless, sometimes, and pushing through fear is courage. Thanks for sharing! (Love the donut cursor!)
I am in IT in Europe too, with faith in God, so I somehow relate.
Thanks! I like customizing my own theme a lot and adding hidden features and easter eggs :))
Not sure if anybody will ever find some, for example, try Konami code on the posts page.
It is a way to have fun while I code on the theme.
