Just wrote yesterday my first post on the English website and I mentioned that I had the domain filipac.net laying around and I used that. But then I remembered that the cool TLD for developers is .dev though. I also had the domain pacurar.dev in the shopping cart for a few months now in Google Domains, but today I finally bought it for $12.
The are three main reasons why I made this choice:
- It’s still in the early days of this website so not a lot of people know about it.
- .dev domain is more suited for me as a developer
- Pacurar.dev is more personal than filipac.net. Pacurar is my last name, Filipac is a nickname I use on different sites but not very many people know what it means (Filip Pacurar)
So yeah, this will be my final English website, already set up the 301 redirects from the old domain to this one.
