I’m at Auchan right now, and I thought I’d write this post from here, since it’s directly connected to what I want to say.
If I had to pick one thing I can honestly call a mini-obsession, it would be bags and backpacks.
Everywhere I’ve traveled, I’ve come back with a bag. When I was in England and ended up at TK Maxx or other discount stores, or when I was in America — everywhere, I left with one more.
I have a whole stack of bags and backpacks at home. I could wear a different bag every day of the week and I’d still have plenty left over.
For example, I bought a really nice one in America and only wore it on the flight back to Romania. Once I got home, I emptied it out and put it straight into the stack. I can’t say I don’t like it — it’s practical and roomy — but I have others I prefer more.
That’s why I think bags could count as one of my obsessions.
The last time I was in England, around July-August, on my last day before flying home, I told myself: “Alright, I’m going to TK Maxx anyway, and if I find a nice bag, I’m getting it.” And, of course, I left with one more from there too.
I don’t know, I just like bags. I like switching them up, I like the variety.
Right now I’m at Auchan, standing next to the school bags, and it takes me back to when I used to go to school. I had all kinds of random stuff in my bag, I’d personalize it, stick badges on it, keep all sorts of things in there. Besides my room at home, my bag was the second favorite place to keep my stuff.
I don’t know, I just like bags. A hidden passion, let’s call it that.
At the same time, I realize I already have quite a lot at home, and that’s what keeps me from buying more.
